"You're an Avenger?"- New Ant-Man Trailer Drops During National Championship Game

 

HOLLYWOOD—Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania dropped a new trailer that features more of the Avengers next villian!

During Georgia’s beatdown of TCU in the National Championship game, a brand new trailer for the first movie in Phase Five which features a grown up Cassie Lang, MODOK, and the villainous Kang the Conqueror.

The official synopsis for the third Ant-Man movie reads:

“In the film, which officially kicks off phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Super-Hero partners Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and the Wasp. Together, with Hope’s parents Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne, the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they though was possible. Jonathan Majors joins the Adventure as Kang.”

The MCU has been built on phases and the entirerty of three Phases culminated in “The Infinity Saga” as the big bad, Thanos, was after the Infinity Stones.

Phase One featured the beginning including the first Iron Man film and extended through to the first Avenger film.

Phase Two included adding characters like Wanda Maximoff or Scarlett Witch, Vision, the Guardians of the Galaxy, and Ant-Man that ended with Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Phase Three was added Doctor Strange, Spiderman, Black Panther, and Captain Marvel to the mix and ended after Avengers: Endgame and Spiderman: Far From Home.

The next set of films and Disney+ shows in Phase Four helped set up “The Multiverse Saga” and added Shang-Chi, the Eternals, and extended the stories of Thor, Spiderman, Doctor Strange, and Black Panther. On Disney+, shows like Loki, Moon Knight, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier helped flesh out and set up the next big bad, Kang.

In Loki season one, He Who Remains, played by Jonathan Majors (Da 5 Bloods, Lovecraft Country) established himself as the futuristic supervillain. Kang is one of the most powerful bad guys in the Marvel Universe and has abilities that include advanced technology and time travel. Kang is certainly an “Avengers Level Threat”.

In the director’s chair for “Quantumania” returns Peyton Reed, who helmed the first two Ant-Man movies as well as the final episode of “The Mandalorian Season Two”. It marks the third outing for Ant-Man.

The film features:

  • Evangeline Lilly (The Hobbit, Real Steel)- Hope Van Dyne/Wasp
  • Jonathan Majors (Da 5 Bloods, Lovecraft Country)- Kang
  • Michelle Pfeiffer (Batman Returns, Scarface)- Janet Van Dyne
  • Michael Douglas (Romancing the Stone, Wall Street)- Hank Pym
  • Kathryn Newton (Pokemon: Detective Pikachu, Blockers)- Cassie Lang
  • Lord Krylar Bill Murray (Caddyshack, Zombieland)- Lord Krylar
  • Corey Stoll (Ant-Man, First Man)- M.O.D.O.K
