HOLLYWOOD— A third trailer for the new space epic “Dune Part Two” has dropped online.
Denis Villeneuve delivered Dune in 2021 and when the movie hit theaters, the sequel was almost greenlit immediately. Featuring a stacked cast, Dune was a hit. Now, Dune Part Two has an even more intimidating cast that includes A-list actors.
The synopsis for Dune Part Two reads:
Paul Atreides unites with Chani and the Fremen while seeking revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the universe, he must prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.
From the trailer, we will get to see the war between Paul and the Fremen and the Emperor, played by Christopher Walken, and the Harkonnens lead by the evil Baron and his nephew, Feyd-Rautha, played by Austin Butler.
Villenueve has already begun writing the third entry of the sci-fi saga that so much of modern-day science fiction owes a great debt to. Dune Part Two was originally slated to come out this past November but the writer’s strike forced the studio to move the film so the cast could promote it.
The returning cast for Dune Part Two includes:
- Timothee Chalamet (Bones and All, Call Me By Your Name) as Paul Atreides
- Zendaya (Euphoria, Spiderman: No Way Home) as Chani
- Josh Brolin (No Country for Old Men, Avengers: Infinity War) as Gurney Halleck
- Dave Bautista (Glass Onion, Blade Runner 2049) as Glossu “The Beast: Rabban
- Stellen Skarsgard (Chernobyl, Andor) as Baron Vladimir Harkonnen
- Rebecca Ferguson (Mission Impossible: Fallout, Doctor Sleep) as Lady Jessica
- Stephen McKinley Henderson (Fences, Lincoln) as Thufir Hawat
- Javier Bardem (No Country for Old Men, Skyfall) as Stilgar
New cast members introduced in Dune Part Two are:
- Florence Pugh (Oppenheimer, Midsommer) as Princess Irulan
- Christopher Walken (Batman Returns, Pulp Fiction) as The Emperor Shaddam IV
- Austin Butler (Elvis, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood) as Feyd-Rautha
- Lea Seydoux (No Time to Die, The French Dispatch) as Lady Margot
- Tim Blake Nelson (Holes, HBO’s Watchmen) as an undisclosed role in the film.
Dune Part Two is set to hit theaters on March 1, 2024.
