NASHVILLE, TN – Country music star Toby Keith, renowned for his chart-topping tunes like "Red Solo Cup" and "Should Have Been a Cowboy," has passed away at the age of 62.

According to a statement released by his family on X (formerly Twitter), the singer-songwriter succumbed to his battle with stomach cancer on Monday night.

"Toby Keith passed peacefully last night on Feb. 5 surrounded by his family," the statement conveyed. "He fought his fight with grace and courage."

The family's message concluded with a plea for privacy during this difficult period.
