HOLLYWOOD — A full trailer for "Primetime," based on "To Catch a Predator," has been released online.
"Primetime" hits theaters this September, and A24 has released a full trailer featuring Robert Pattinson as Chris Hansen. The film is set in 2006 when “To Catch a Predator” aired during primetime television hours. The show was about catching alleged pedophiles when they showed up to meet a child, in reality a decoy, at a sting house.
Pattinson sounds just like Hansen as he continues his tear through the film industry. After Twlight, Pattinson could have made millions doing rom-coms, leaning into the teen heartthrob leading role. However, he went the opposite direction and into artist-driven films. Now, he’s Batman in Matt Reeves' Batman universe, he’s worked with Christopher Nolan in Tenet and The Odyssey, and he will be in Dune Part III as the antagonist, the Face Dancer, Scytale.
"To Catch a Predator" ran from November 2004 to December 2007 and effectively ended with the suicide of Bill Conradt. With that investigation, Conradt was an assistant district attorney in the Dallas metroplex when he allegedly was in contact with a decoy who was with "To Catch a Predator."
"Primetime" is directed by Lance Oppenheim, who has directed one other feature film, "The Whale."
The cast includes:
- Robert Pattinson (The Batman, Good Time) as Chris Hansen
- Merritt Wever (Nurse Jackie, Marriage Story) as Hansen’s assistant
- Skyler Gisondo (Superman, Vacation) as Dan Plumb
- Anna Faris (Brokeback Mountain, Scary Movie franchise) as Mary Joan Hansen
The film also features Pheobe Bridgers, Matthew Maher, Bokeem Woodbine, Jonathan Lipnicki, Sean Bridgers, Tony Revolori and Jeff Zucker as himself.
"Primetime" shows up in theaters on Sept. 25, 2026.
