Shannon Clinic Receives National Recognition for ‘Better Performer’

According to a press release Thursday, Shannon Clinic was recognized by the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) Performance and Practices of Successful Groups as a “better performer” due to superior operations performance and patient satisfaction compared with similar medical group practices nationwide.

The 2015 Report based on 2014 data classified Shannon as a better performer in the area of Cost Management and Patient Satisfaction. The Clinic has more than 200 providers in 18 locations including San Angelo, Ozona and Big Spring. Every month, Shannon Clinic also sends out specialists to other West Texas communities.

“We are here to provide exceptional care and outstanding healthcare professionals for our patients throughout the communities we serve,” said Gary Gibian, executive director for Shannon Clinic. “Patient satisfaction is a critical component when adding new providers and expanding our services throughout the region.”

Overall, the MGMA report has provided data to medical groups for more than a decade. In addition to the data report, the association analyzed management behaviors, practices and procedures of better performers. The report profiles medical practices that have demonstrated success in one or more areas included profitability and cost management; productivity, capacity and staffing; account receivable and collections; and patient satisfaction.
