Midland Breaks Previous Record With 431 New Cases

MIDLAND, TX -- Midland County appears to be experiencing its own COVID-19 spike this week.

According to the Midland Health Department, the county has reported its fourth-straight day with more than 100 new cases.

This week broke the previous seven-day record of 418 cases reported during the week of July 19-25.

“I cannot stress enough the mitigation efforts that we must continue to follow,” said Whitney Craig during Thursday’s press conference about the spike in cases. “And we’ve beat them in, and I will beat them in again -- maintain your social distance, wear your masks, keep your hands and high-touch surfaces clean.

This week has seen 200 more cases than last week.
