COVER1 PREGAME | Several District Championships Hang in the Balance Tonight!

This is the final week of the regular season of Texas High School Football and COVER1 will have you hooked up to some incredible games including San Angelo Central and Frienship, Ballinger and Grape Creek, and Irion County and Veribest.

FRENSHIP (7-2) @ SAN ANGELO CENTRAL (1-8) AT 7 P.M. ON 11/3

RYAN CHADWICK - Okay, people, this matchup could go one of two ways. Either the Bobcats continue to do what they have done all season and fight, or this final game gets ugly. I heavily lean toward the first option, and the Bobcats are primed for an upset. Christian English has cemented himself this season as one of the premiere talents in the Little Southwest Conference. Colten Hill, Carmelo Amigleo, and Jayvion Robinson also continue to go off each and every week. One last ride, Bobcats, let’s see what you can do. PICK: CENTRAL 56 FRENSHIP 55

JAMES BOULIGNY - I expect this Little Southwest Conference game to be a shootout. The Bobcats have proved that they can hang around and put up points, but this Tigers team has shown they can score at any time, especially against a young Central defense. Expect a lot of points in this one, with Frenship just edging out the Bobcats. PICK: FRENSHIP 70 - CENTRAL 63

MATT TRAMMELL - PICK: FRENSHIP

OTHER PICKS: SCOTT MENCHACA - FRENSHIP | ERNESTO RODRIGUEZ - FRENSHIP | YANTIS GREEN - FRENSHIP | KIMBERLY MAJANO - FRENSHIP | ARLEEN CASTILLO - FRENSHIP  |

BRADY (3-6) @ WALL (7-2) AT 7 P.M. ON 11/3

CHADWICK - After a tough loss in horrible conditions last week, the Brady Bulldogs now face off with the powerhouse Wall Hawks with possible playoff implications on the line. At times this season, the Bulldogs looked dangerous. They beat up on TLCA, after all. It will not happen this week. Wall is rolling, people. The Hawks average 62 points per game in district play, while the defense averages less than a touchdown allowed. This one will be ugly.  PICK: WALL 63 BRADY 6

BOULIGNY - The Hawks are looking to stay perfect in district with a win against the Bulldogs. This Brady defense is better than the box scores indicate and has some good young players on it. On the other hand, Wall has some good young players as well, and when they get their hooks in and control the game, it’s almost impossible to recollect. PICK: WALL 56 - BRADY 14

TRAMMELL - PICK: WALL

OTHER PICKS: MENCHACA - WALL | RODRIGUEZ - WALL | GREEN - WALL | MAJANO - WALL | CASTILLO - WALL |

BALLINGER (0-9) @ GRAPE CREEK (1-8) AT 7 P.M. ON 11/3

BOULIGNY -  The Creek is hitting their stride at the right moment, and after beating Brady last week, they’ll continue to ride that momentum. But Zach Canada and Kyson Weathers with this receiving corp are going to make it difficult. But I think this Grape Creek defense can stop the Bearcats when necessary. It’ll be a low-scoring game, but the Eagles pull off the victory. PICK: GRAPE CREEK 14 - BALLINGER 10

CHADWICK - The Grape Creek Eagles upset the Brady Bulldogs a week ago in a torrential downpour that gave the Eagles their first win in over 700 days. Grape Creek is riding high right now, but the Bearkats will not roll over. Ballinger only managed 12 points on offense in their first six games. Since then, however, the Bearkats put up 54 points and almost beat Brady and TLCA. I say Ballinger gets its first win tonight.  PICK: BALLINGER 28 GRAPE CREEK 14

TRAMMELL - PICK: GRAPE CREEK

OTHER PICKS: MENCHACA - GRAPE CREEK | RODRIGUEZ - GRAPE CREEK  | GREEN - GRAPE CREEK | MAJANO - GRAPE CREEK  | CASTILLO - GRAPE CREEK  |

VERIBEST @ IRION COUNTY AT 7 P.M. ON 11/3

BOULIGNY - The Warriors Three vs. the Army of Two. Colton Lowdermilk, Parker Posey, and Wyatt Morris are going to do their best against Hunter Hallmark and Bryce Martin of the Veribest Falcons. This game isn’t going to end in a 45 and will come down to the last minutes, but I believe Veribest is going to pull a slight upset. PICK: VERIBEST 49 - IRION COUNTY 46

CHADWICK - A season after graduating several playmakers on both sides of the football, who would have thought that Hornets would be back in the same position they were in a year ago? Well, Irion County currently sits in first place in their district with a chance to win another outright district championship against the Falcons tonight. While Veribest had a hot start to their season, the loss to Robert Lee made me reconsider what I thought I knew about them. Irion County is too well-coached and is playing excellent football at this point in the season. PICK: IRION COUNTY 64 VERIBEST 55

OTHER PICKS: MENCHACA - VERIBEST | RODRIGUEZ - IRION COUNTY | GREEN - IRION COUNTY | MAJANO - VERIBEST | CASTILLO - IRION COUNTY |
