Pizza Hut Offering Classic Locations, Including 28 in Texas

WASHINGTON — Red plastic cups, checkered tablecloths and Tiffany-style lamps are making a comeback at 155 retro-themed Pizza Hut locations across the United States, including 28 in Texas.

Pizza Hut is leaning into nostalgia by highlighting its “Pizza Hut Classic” restaurants, where customers can dine in settings designed to resemble the chain’s popular 1990s-era locations. Parent company Yum! Brands recently published a list of participating restaurants that feature vinyl booths, red roofs and other classic décor elements tied to the brand’s earlier years.

According to reports, one franchise owner operating 38 Classic locations plans to convert another restaurant this summer, with 12 additional locations under consideration for retro redesigns.

The company’s nostalgia push extends beyond restaurant décor. Pizza Hut also is promoting the return of its BOOK IT! summer reading program, which rewards children with free pizza for meeting reading goals.

The retro dining concept comes as restaurant chains increasingly tap into nostalgia marketing to attract customers seeking familiar experiences and brand recognition from previous decades.

No matter how it's sliced their pizza is the worst available. I remember even in the 90's Pizza Inn was much better. Hell even Gatti's was superior.
