Severe Thunderstorms Could Pummel the Concho Valley Saturday Night

SAN ANGELO, TX – Severe thunderstorms containing large hail and high winds are possible across all of the Concho Valley Saturday evening and overnight. 

According to the National Weather Service office in San Angelo a line of thunderstorms will form west of the Concho Valley Saturday afternoon and evening and will move east across the entire Concho Valley into the overnight hours.  

Some of the storms could become severe with hail and damaging winds the main threat.  The storms will develop and move across the area from 3 p.m. to midnight. 

Forecasters haven't ruled out the possibility of a tornado. 

There is a 90% chance of rain Saturday night with southwest winds at 20 to 25 mph with higher gusts around the thunderstorms. 

Once the storm system blows through the Concho Valley the rain chances drop to 20% for the early morning hours Sunday. 

The rain chances are gone Sunday morning.  Expect sunny skies and windy conditions Sunday with highs in the mid 70s and winds out of the southwest at 20 to 25 mph and gusty.
