Advisory Issued as Dangerous Heat Returns Monday Afternoon

SAN ANGELO – The National Weather Service office in San Angelo has issued a Heat Advisory beginning Monday afternoon as temperatures once again will return to the 102 to 106 degree range endangering people and pets who venture outdoors improperly prepared.  

The high temperature of 98 degrees Saturday marked the first day since July 8 that the region didn't see temps over 100.  The forecast calls for the heat to increase throughout midweek so the Heat Advisory could be upgraded to an Excessive Heat Warning again. 

Experts recommend taking precautions for the dangerous heat conditions.  Drink plenty of fluids to stay hydrated, take frequent breaks in the shade, wear appropriate sun blocking clothing and sunscreen.  Check on vulnerable friends and neighbors.  

Never ever leave a child or a pet in a locked car in Texas.  

This streak of triple digit days will last at least seven days and there is no rain in the forecast.
