SAN ANGELO, TX – The National Weather Service is warning residents across West Central Texas to prepare for a return to triple-digit temperatures this week, with San Angelo expected to reach 102 degrees on both Tuesday and Wednesday.
A high-pressure ridge is building across the region, driving temperatures well above seasonal norms. Forecasts show highs exceeding 100 degrees in many cities including Abilene, Ballinger, Junction, and San Saba, with some areas topping out at 106.

Tonight’s low in San Angelo is expected to drop to around 68 degrees, with south-southwest winds between 5 to 10 mph and gusts reaching 20 mph. Today’s high is near 91 degrees with increasing clouds and calm winds shifting southwest later in the afternoon.
The hottest days are expected to be Tuesday and Wednesday. The National Weather Service notes these conditions could challenge or break daily temperature records across the area.
Officials urge residents to take precautions against heat stress. Recommended safety measures include drinking water, avoiding alcohol, applying SPF 30+ sunscreen every two hours, wearing loose and light-colored clothing, and taking breaks in shaded areas.
