Flash Flood Warning Issued for Tom Green and Surrounding Counties

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — The National Weather Service has extended a Flash Flood Warning through 12:30 a.m. Wednesday for south-central Tom Green County, as well as parts of Kimble, Schleicher and Sutton counties.

Hazard:
Life-threatening flash flooding caused by thunderstorms producing 1 to 2 inches of rain per hour. Radar indicates 1.5 to 2.5 inches of rainfall has already fallen in the area.

Impact:
Flash flooding is either ongoing or imminent, affecting:

  • Creeks, streams, and rural low-lying areas

  • Highways, city streets, and underpasses

  • Locations including Eldorado, Roosevelt, and several intersections along US-190, US-277, and I-10

Precautionary Measures:

  • Avoid travel through flooded roadways — Turn Around, Don’t Drown

  • Remain especially cautious at night when visibility is low

  • Report flooding to local emergency officials when safe to do so
