SAN ANGELO, TX — Rain returned to San Angelo Wednesday afternoon, bringing scattered showers and the potential for localized storms across the area.
According to the National Weather Service in San Angelo, these conditions are expected to persist intermittently into the early evening before tapering off.
“We have a shower moving over parts of the city right now, and there’s other scattered storms developing across the area,” a meteorologist with the NWS told San Angelo LIVE! “We’re kind of expecting just some hit and miss showers and thunderstorms, probably through early evening. And I think by, let’s say seven, eight o’clock, I think everything’s gonna start to dissipate.”
Forecast data issued early Wednesday showed San Angelo had a 75% chance of precipitation today—the highest probability for the week. By Thursday, rain chances fall sharply to 15%, and remain low through the weekend. Temperatures, meanwhile, are forecast to rise steadily, reaching the upper 90s by Sunday and Monday.

The Weather Prediction Center also placed areas east of an Abilene-to-Sonora line, including San Angelo, under a Slight Risk for excessive rainfall, with San Saba County elevated to a Moderate Risk.
Forecasters warned that additional storms could redevelop this evening, bringing periods of heavy rain and a risk of flash flooding.
