SAN ANGELO, TX — Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected across the region through Friday, with modest rainfall totals likely, according to the National Weather Service in San Angelo.
Most areas can expect between 0.01 and 0.5 inches of rain, though forecasters noted a low, 10 percent chance that some spots could see higher totals of 1 to 2 inches or more. Heavier rainfall could lead to localized flooding on roadways and rivers, creating hazardous travel conditions.

Better rain chances are forecast west of a Throckmorton-to-Junction line, with precipitation probabilities around 30 to 40 percent most days. Independence Day could see only a slight chance of showers, with thunderstorms possible after 1 p.m. The chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
Drier and hotter conditions return for the weekend.
Temperatures are forecast to remain in the mid-80s to near 90 degrees through Thursday, rising into the mid-90s by Saturday and Sunday under mostly sunny skies.
The National Weather Service advises drivers to use caution in flooded areas and never attempt to cross water-covered roads.
