SAN ANGELO, TX — The National Weather Service in San Angelo is warning of strong north winds and sharply cooler temperatures this week as a cold front moves through West Central Texas.
Wind gusts between 30 and 40 mph are expected Tuesday and Wednesday, with the strongest winds occurring during the late morning and early afternoon hours. Motorists are advised to use caution when traveling on east–west roads, and residents should secure loose outdoor items.
By Thursday morning, temperatures are forecast to drop into the 30s, bringing the season’s first frost or light freeze to portions of the region. The weather service estimates a 50 to 70 percent chance of lows dipping below 35 degrees across much of West Central Texas.
Daytime highs will remain in the 60s and 70s through the weekend, with chilly mornings in the 30s and 40s expected on Thursday and Friday.
