Unseasonable Warmth to Give Way to Chilly Start Next Week

SAN ANGELO, TX — Unseasonably warm temperatures are expected across the Concho Valley through Saturday night, with some locations potentially tying or breaking daily record highs and record warm lows, according to the National Weather Service San Angelo.

Forecast highs through Saturday are expected to reach the low to mid-80s across much of the region, including San Angelo, Abilene, Ballinger, Brownwood and surrounding communities. Overnight lows are also forecast to remain unusually warm, generally in the upper 50s to low 60s through Saturday night.

The weather pattern is expected to change late Sunday as a cold front moves through the area. The front will bring significantly cooler temperatures Sunday night into Monday, with daytime highs dropping into the 40s and 50s and overnight lows falling into the 20s and 30s by early next week.

By midweek, temperatures are forecast to gradually rebound, with highs returning to the 60s and upper 60s by Wednesday and Thursday.

The National Weather Service noted that while the warmth will persist through Saturday night, residents should be prepared for a sharp temperature change heading into the start of the new week.
