SAN ANGELO, TX — A wind advisory is in effect today for the Big Country and northwest Texas, mainly along and north of Interstate 20, with north winds sustained at 25-35 mph and occasional gusts up to 40-45 mph, the National Weather Service said.
The advisory runs from noon to 6 p.m., according to the NWS office in San Angelo. Residents are urged to secure loose outdoor objects and drive with caution, especially if operating high-profile vehicles.
Colder temperatures are expected tonight, with clear skies and diminishing north to northeast winds. Overnight lows will drop into the mid to upper 30s across the region, from 9 p.m. Wednesday through 10 a.m. Thursday.

- Today: Sunny, with a high near 72. Windy, with a southwest wind 15 to 25 mph becoming north in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph.
