SAN ANGELO, TX — San Angelo fisherman James Sutton set a new record recently for a freshwater drum in the Concho River, according to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s Inland Fisheries Division.
Sutton’s catch weighed 15.55 pounds and was 28.75 inches long.
If verified, the fish will shatter the previous record of 5.2 pounds set in 2019.
Sutton caught the fish from the Bell Street section of the Concho River.
