Hot and Dry Through the Weekend; Rain Chances Early Next Week

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — Scorching temperatures and mainly dry conditions will persist across the Big Country and Concho Valley through the weekend, with highs in the mid-90s to near 100 degrees, the National Weather Service in San Angelo reported Thursday. 

Forecasters predict highs climbing into the upper 90s and low 100s in spots. Sweetwater is forecast to reach 102 Saturday and 100 Friday, while Haskell could hit 101 both Friday and Saturday. San Angelo will see a high of 93 today, 94 Friday and 95 Saturday before settling into the low- to mid-90s early next week and cooling to 86 by Wednesday. 

Precipitation chances remain near zero through Saturday across the region. Low chances (5% to 15%) for showers and thunderstorms arrive Sunday, increasing to low-to-medium (20% to 55%) Monday through Wednesday, according to the forecast. 

The NWS said temperatures will be slightly cooler early next week as the rain chances develop.
