BREAKING: Robert Francis O'Rourke Officially Announces Bid for Texas Governor

EL PASO, TX – El Paso Democrat politician Robert Francis "Beto" O'Rourke announced Monday that he will be entering the race for Texas Governor.

After months of rumors and touring Texas, on Nov. 15, Beto confirmed he will be challenging Gov. Abbott for his seat.

“Those in positions of public trust have stopped listening to, serving, paying attention to, and trusting the people of Texas, and so they’re not focused on the things that most of us actually agree on," said Beto. “Instead, they’re focusing on the kind of extremist policies that really only divide us and keep us apart, and stop us from working together on the truly big things that we want to achieve for one another. It’s a really small vision for such a big state, but it doesn’t have to be that way, and I know that together we can get back to being big again.”

O'Rourke is a former El Paso City Council member from 2005-2012 and a U.S. House of Representatives Member for District 16th Congressional District from 2012-2018.

He then gave up the seat to run against Sen. Ted Cruz in 2018. O'Rourke bit off more than he could chew and lost by nearly 3 points. He then announced he would run for U.S. President but shortly dropped out after entering.

Since then, Beto has been touring around Texas attempting to raise more for Democratic causes. He came to San Angelo in June 2021.

Just a year or two under beto and Texas might become as safe as New York, Chicago or California.

Texas has a higher crime rate than California. California's largest crime is vehicle theft, where in Texas it's sexual assault and burglary. Would you rather have your car stolen or be raped after someone breaks into your house?

Also, the states with the highest "firearm death rate" are almost all republican run;

Sorry, amigo, but I am no more concerned about his taking my guns (I own a few, including semiautomatic handguns) than I was when the Right sang the same off-key song about Obama.

Going to be tough to beat Obama’s record. During his 8 years in office 45 billion dollars worth of guns and ammunition were sold ;)

Source of that number? I don't doubt it, I just want to know the source of that information.

"challenging Gov. Abbott for his seat"

That's a low blow salive. Below the belt.

What is your biden slogan again? You people hate women so much you have to take away their rights. Same with the lgbq you want to take away their rights too. Not to mention you want to harm children by banning safety devices, and ban books because they teach the real history, you also want to burn those books like the nazi's. Not to mention you hate America so much you attempted to take over the government because your reality show host lost a fair election and claimed fraud in which republicans own investigations can't find any evidence of. Republicans are at the apex of "hateful"

Besides, I didn't say it, salive did.

Poor attempts at insults mean I have won yet again.

Is that all republicans have is to call people names like children on a playground? No wonder you people lose elections by the widest margin in history after being impeached twice.

Uh no, Me Someone, that’s “not all the Republicans have.”  Next election the Republicans will also have the majority in the House of Representatives and have the majority in the Senate.

Says the person who can't even say how they really feel and has to talk in code like a child afraid his mommy will wash his mouth out with soap.

Although to be fair I don't know for sure that isn't why you are afraid to say what you really mean.

Hilarious, I love it.

I believe it’s best to simply ignore “me someone.”  After all, we’re admonished to not cast our pearls before swine. However I’ll admit her “hair on fire” tirades against liberty and her incessant spew touting all things communist / democrat are amusing. We’ll all see how Robert Francis does against our beloved Gov. Abbott in the general election! Ha, ha.

What exactly have I said that is "communist"? Be specific please. You are just using boogyman words that your leaders are telling you to use to attempt to scare their followers against ideas that might actually help them and make their lives better.

“You people hate women so much you have to take away their rights”

You do realize that at least half of those killed through abortion are females right?…and yet you support taking away their first and foremost right the right to life ;)

ME Someone, Tue, 11/16/2021 - 18:35

I'm not just talking about abortion, you are so fixated on that. It has been decided, it's constitutionally protected, keep your religion to yourselves. If it was muslims trying to force their religion on you you would be up in arms.

Anyway, republicans are also trying to prevent women from accessing birth control methods. They also push for "abstinence only" sex education, which does not work and only furthers teen pregnancies by preventing proper use of contraceptives.

Also, I love that you didn't disagree that you are trying to take away rights (marriage for instance) from the lgbtq community. Says quite a bit.

Hey I get it abortion doesn’t fit the narrative right?

Also you forgot some letters it’s LGBTQXYZ ;)

You are right about one thing it’s constitutional. There’s simply no way that some arbitrary “right to privacy” trumps our first and foremost right the Right to Life ;)
