Assistant Chief Endorses Hernandez for Police Chief

 

SAN ANGELO, Texas – San Angelo Police Department Assistant Police Chief Tracy Fincher has endorsed Lt. Mike Hernandez for Chief of Police in the May 4, 2024 Municipal Election. 

Below is Fincher's Endorsement Letter:

"My name is Tracy Fincher, I am writing you this letter to endorse Mike Hernandez for the next Chief of Police for the City of San Angelo.

I have known Mike for close to thirty years.  During that time, I have worked alongside him in numerous roles in the San Angelo Police Department.  I have seen Mike make countless tough decisions along the way and he has always made them with the utmost integrity.  Mike has always led by example and will continue to do so.

Mike has worked in almost every division in the Police Department.  He has served in Command level positions in the Training Division, Patrol Shift Command, Community Services Division and currently the Criminal Investigations Division.  In addition to those assignments he was also the Commander of the SAPD SWAT team and now he also serves as the Critical Incident Commander.  Prior to his service in the Police Department Mike served his country in the United States Marine Corp.  Mike is family man, a Christian and all around great person.   

Mikes exemplifies unwavering dedication, exceptional leadership and a commitment to community safety.  His strategic vision and proven track record make him the ideal candidate for the role of Chief of Police.
