LOS ANGELES, CA — Former Vice President Kamala Harris is scheduled to make a high-profile speech Wednesday evening at the 20th anniversary gala for Emerge America, an organization that recruits and trains Democratic women to run for office.
Harris has largely been out of the public eye since leaving office in January following her resounding loss to Donald Trump in the presidential race.
According to multiple reports, Harris plans to use the occasion to criticize Trump after he recently hit the 100-day milestone of his second term.
Harris has not ruled out another presidential run. There has also been speculation she could be a candidate to be the next governor of California.
One thing for certain is that Harris has continued to raise funds. The Harris Victory Fund reported having $4.5 million in donations at the end of March, according to federal records.
Democrats need to “organize and stop Trump’s agenda while electing Democrats everywhere,” Harris wrote in recent emails. “There has never been a more important time for a strong Democratic Party — one that is willing to stand up to Donald Trump, Elon Musk and what they are doing to this country.”
Other speakers at the gala include Democrat U.S. Rep. Abigail Spanberger of Virginia, Michigan state Sen. Mallory McMorrow and New Mexico state Sen. Cindy Nava.
