SAN ANGELO, TX — Leland Lacy has been endorsed by the San Angelo Police Officers Political Action Committee in his campaign for Judge of County Court at Law #1.
The San Angelo Police Officers PAC released the following statement in its endorsement of Lacy:
“The San Angelo Police Officers Coalition PAC is pleased to endorse, by a unanimous executive committee vote, Tom Green County Domestic Violence Unit Chief Prosecutor Leland Lacy. Considering Mr. Lacy’s background, knowledge, service in the justice system, and temperament, we support his candidacy for County Court at Law #1 Judge.”
The SAPD PAC stated that it makes endorsements in races where outcomes will directly affect the PAC and members of law enforcement throughout Tom Green County. Their selection is based on candidate platforms, qualifications and experience as well as individual interviews with each candidate.
Lacy will receive a campaign contribution of $1,000 as part of the endorsement.
“I am honored to have the endorsement of the police officers who serve and protect our city,” Lacy said. “In my long tenure as a prosecutor, I have worked with several generations of local law enforcement. I know their commitment to the well-being of our community, and I appreciate their vote of confidence.”
The San Angelo Association of Realtors has also endorsed Lacy.
Judge Ben Nolen currently presides over County Court at Law #1. He announced in 2025 that he would retire at the end of his current term.
Early voting begins Feb. 17 for the March 3 Republican Primary.
