SAN ANGELO, TX – It's official. San Angelo's own Ty Harris will take on reigning champion Caleb Smidt at the 2023 Cinch Roping Fiesta.
According to the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo Association, on Aug. 23, the SASSRA announced that the 70th annual Cinch Roping Fiesta Match Roping will be between reigning champion Caleb Smidt and San Angelo native Ty Harris.

Along with the match roping, there will be other events throughout the weekend, including women's breakaway and the World Jr Calf Roping Championship.
On Saturday night, following the match roping, the Eli Young Band will perform with special guest Scotty Alexander.
The Cinch Roping Fiesta is scheduled for Oct. 26 through Oct. 29 at the outdoor arena at the San Angelo Coliseum. Tickets go on sale on Oct. 2.
