"The Rescue", Starring Brandon Sklenar, Filmed at San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo

SAN ANGELO, TX— A Yellowstone prequel star was at the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo’s Cinch Chute Out last night filming a scene for his upcoming film The Rescue.
Brandon Sklenar, who played Spencer Dutton in 1923, Andrew Winchester in The Housemaid, and Atlas Corrigan in It Ends with Us, was on the dirt at the 2026 Cinch Chute Out. Sklenar could be seen falling on the dirt as the film crew captured a bareback ride.
The film is reportedly titled “The Rescue”, follows Sklenar’s character, an apparent bareback rider, in what is described as a modern-day western in the same vein as 2008's Taken as he faces obstacles off the dirt.
Sklenar isn’t the only Yellowstone veteran starring in the film as Hassie Harrison, who played barrel racer Laramie, and Josh Lucas who played a younger John Dutton. Also in the cast is Josh Duhamal (Transformers), Tim Blake Nelson (Old Henry), Nick Searcy (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri), and Spencer Treat Clark (Gladiator).
The Rescue is produced by Paramount Skydance and directed by Old Henry director Potsy Ponciroli who will work with Tim Blake Nelson again on this project. Screenwriter John Fusco (The Highwaymen) has penned the script.
The Rescue is scheduled for release on January 29, 2027, before next year’s San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo.
