Fugitive Flees, Abandons Pregnant Woman to Drown

 

The San Angelo Police Department is currently searching for a hit-and-run suspect in the Rio Concho Drive area.

According to Officer Palmer, the San Angelo police were in pursuit of the dark colored pickup truck when the driver exited the vehicle without putting it into park. The truck, with a pregnant female passenger in the passenger seat, then veered off the roadway and plunged into the Concho River where it capsized.

The pregnant female passenger was rescued from the vehicle immediately. She was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

The suspect is described as a white male, 5' 8", thin build, shaved head and tattoos. He was last seen wearing dark gray shorts that look black because he was in the water, red underwear, black tennis shoes, and shirtless. He was last seen on the north side of the river and is considered armed and dangerous. He is 32 years old and named Tarren Watson, police said.

Update 5:20 p.m.

Officer Palmer gave an update. He said that after an hour of searching within a perimeter with K9s, they are taking down the perimeter and pursuing other options to find him. He has four city warrants and one felony warrant. We originally reported that the fugitive was a black male. Police confirmed that he is white.

Update 5:56 p.m.

Police corrected the spelling of the name of the suspect they are pursuing. His name is Tarren Watson and he's 32 years old. The story above is updated.

I knew Tarren when he was in middle school. He got into a lot of trouble with the law and school back then. I had hoped that like a lot of troubled adolescents that he either got help or would see the err of his ways. Looks like that was put on the back burner. I feel for the pregnant young lady that he left to possibly drown. That was pretty heartless and self centered. I hope she and the baby are able to recover from this terrifying event.
