Escaped Convict on the Run From Lynn County Jail

Lynn County Sheriff’s deputies are searching for an inmate who escaped from the Lynn County Jail.

Officials say they believe 41-year old Ismael Ramirez Reyes, of Muleshoe, escaped from the jail between late Thursday night and early Friday morning.

Deputies discovered Reyes was missing from his cell at 5:30 a.m. Friday. Nobody was injured during Reyes' escape from jail.

Officials said a vehicle possible carrying Reyes was last seen around 11 p.m. Thursday near the sheriff's office. It was stolen. The vehicle was recovered in Matador. Deputies believe Reyes took the vehicle when he escaped the jail. Sheriff Jerry Franklin, with the Lynn County Sheriff's Department, mentioned the keys of the pickup had been left in the vehicle overnight.

Deputies are still investigating how Reyes was able to escape, and it is unknown if Reyes is armed with any weapons.

Reyes is described as a Hispanic male, 5'8", 165 lbs. with black hair and brown eyes. Reyes was last seen wearing an orange jumpsuit.

Reyes was in jail for several charges including evading arrest, unauthorized use of a vehicle and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

If anybody knows Reyes' location, or see Reyes, call the Lynn County Sheriff's Office at (806) 561-4505.
