TGC Sheriff's Office Hosting Police Week Opening Ceremony Monday

 

SAN ANGELO, TX - The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office is inviting the community to a special flag-raising ceremony to kick off police week on Monday.

This ceremony will focus on honoring the men and women who have fallen in the line of duty, according to the sheriff’s office. 

This event will take place Monday, May 13, starting at 9 a.m., in the East parking lot of the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office, 222 W. Harris Ave. 

The ceremony will include Opening prayer, proclamation reading by County Judge Lane Carter, Presentation of Colors by the San Angelo Police Department and Tom Green County Sheriff's Office, Reading of the Names by Sheriff Nick Hanna, guest speakers Texas Ranger Major Wayne Matthews with the Texas Department of Public Safety and Congressman August Pfluger. 

This event will conclude with the Presentation of Arms and the playing of TAPPS. 

“We are confident it will be a memorable and meaningful event for all attendees,” the sheriff’s office stated.
