Angelo State’s Final Spring ‘Night at the Museum’ Happens May 6

SAN ANGELO, TX - Angelo State University's Mayer Museum will host the final spring installment of its "Night at the Museum" program on Tuesday, May 6, in the Mayer Museum at 2501 W. Ave. N.

Night at the Museum will run from 5-8 p.m. and is free and open to community members of all ages. This installment's family-friendly and educational activities will include:

  • Virtual Reality Tours with VR headsets
  • Kappa Pi and Friday Art Club Activity Station
  • Tri-Beta Biology Activity Station
  • Interactive Mayer Museum exhibits, gallery hunts and more

Additionally, the new exhibit titled "Curiosity in Motion: The Intersection of Art and Science" will be open. It includes sculptures of prehistoric animals by Dallas-based artist Ariel Bowman, naturalist illustrations by the late ASU biology professor, Dr. Terry Maxwell, and a variety of animal specimens from the Angelo State Natural History Collections.

"Curiosity in Motion" encourages attendees to enjoy the convergence of art and science by showcasing the parallels between the scientific method and the creative process. The collaborative display celebrates the shared drive of both artists and scientists - curiosity.

The monthly Night at the Museum events will return during ASU's upcoming fall semester.
