Pre-Leasing Begins for Roosevelt Lofts as Redevelopment Nears Completion

SAN ANGELO, TX — Pre-leasing has officially opened for Roosevelt Lofts at 50 N. Chadbourne St., as construction crews near the final phase of a $6.5 million renovation to convert the former downtown hotel into senior housing.

Roosevelt Lofts announced this week that they have started their pre-application and leasing processes. Resident move-ins and a grand opening are expected later this summer.

The 25-unit complex is designed for seniors, with storefront glass, vinyl flooring, and other interior finishes currently in progress as construction nears completion.

Crews have completed the interior stairs and wainscoting, and the plumbing team has finished trim on the second and third floors. Electricians are conducting hot checks and finalizing hallway work. Exterior railings, awnings, and eyebrows have been primed and painted.

Looking ahead to next week, crews plan to turn on all air conditioners and complete the installation of storefront glass. Tile work on the first floor will be finished, and countertops will be installed. Workers will also wrap up the trim work on the first floor and complete the hot checking of units.

Work will begin on the exterior light poles as the exterior lights are activated, and vinyl flooring will be installed in preparation for appliances. Lastly, a large new awning will be installed on Chadbourne Street, and the punch list process will begin.

The building, originally opened in 1929 as the Rainbow Hotel and renamed the Roosevelt in 1933, sat vacant for years before Overland Property Group began redevelopment in 2024. A restored version of the building’s 100-year-old sign was installed in April and now reads “Roosevelt Lofts.”
