SAN ANGELO, TX — The Concho Valley Republican Women are hosting a picnic and ice cream social on Thursday, June 5, to commemorate their 45th anniversary.
According to their website, "The Concho Valley Republican Women's Club was organized in June 1980 by 11 Charter Members. Its purpose was to increase the effectiveness of women in government, and by doing so, elect the best possible candidates, both men and women, to political office."
Boasting over 150 current members, the club currently meets monthly to hear from dynamic speakers on topics from national security to local elections.
Guests are invited to attend and enjoy hamburgers, ice cream and activities for the kids. The event will be held at the First Presbyterian Church Lake Lodge, 2014 Willow Dr., from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
