San Angelo Family Launches Fundraiser After Car Destroyed in 5-Vehicle Crash

SAN ANGELO, TX — A San Angelo family is asking for help replacing their only vehicle after it was totaled in the five-car crash Wednesday afternoon at Lake View Towne Center.

Johnny Guinan, who organized a GoFundMe campaign titled Family of Four Needs Help After Wreck," says the vehicle was struck after an "out-of-control driver" caused a chain-reaction crash in the parking lot on 29th Street.

Guinan wrote that he and his wife rely on a single vehicle to support their family of four and that they’ve been struggling financially since he was injured in a previous wreck.

“We barely get by paying for the one car,” the GoFundMe stated. “Then today, an out-of-control driver hit two other vehicles and then slammed into mine. My car was wrecked and left totaled.”

As of Thursday morning, the fundraiser had raised $25 of its $7,000 goal.

No citations were issued at the scene, and San Angelo police believe the initial driver may have suffered a medical episode prior to the crash.
