San Angelo PD to Hold Day of Remembrance for Korby Kennedy

SAN ANGELO, TX — The San Angelo Police Department will mark 10 years since the death of Sergeant Korby Kennedy with a Day of Remembrance on Wednesday, June 25.

Kennedy, a 20-year veteran of SAPD, was killed in a motorcycle crash on Knickerbocker Road while escorting a parade when a vehicle pulled out in front of him.

Kennedy “was a beloved husband, father, and a dedicated officer of the San Angelo Police Department,” stated an SAPD Facebook post. “Over the years, he served tirelessly, not only in his duties as an officer, but also as a steadfast advocate for the members of our association.”

To honor Kennedy’s memory, the San Angelo Police Officer’s Coalition, in coordination with SAPD, organized the Day of Remembrance.

An honor watch will be conducted throughout the day after a police procession from the police station, beginning at 8:15 a.m.

A memorial ceremony will be held at 5 p.m at 3100 Knickerbocker Road.
