San Angelo State Park Partially Reopens Following Flooding

SAN ANGELO, TX — San Angelo State Park has partially reopened after recent flooding, with most trails and some campgrounds now accessible to the public. However, several areas remain closed as cleanup efforts continue.

According to Texas Parks and Wildlife, the south side of the park—including Red Arroyo, Isabel Harte, and Lakeview Day-use areas—is now open. The Riverbend Campgrounds have also reopened, and all trails are accessible except for a few that remain closed due to unsafe conditions.

The closed areas include the Bald Eagle and North Concho Campgrounds, as well as the Shady, North Scenic Loop, and Lower Ghost Camp Trails.

Visitors are urged to use caution when entering the park, as displaced wildlife, snakes, and stinging insects may be present. Additionally, underwater debris from the flooding may still pose a hazard in the lake, and entry is at the visitor’s own risk.

Park officials are working to reopen the remaining trails and campgrounds as soon as possible.
