Angelo State Cheer Team to Host Cheer Prospect Day for High School Students

 

SAN ANGELO, TX - The Angelo State University Cheer Team will host a Cheer Prospect Day event for high school students considering cheering in college on Saturday, Oct. 4, at the ASU Band Practice Field next to the Carr Education-Fine Arts Building at 2602 Dena Drive.

The free event will run from 8-10 a.m. and is designed for prospective cheer athletes to explore ASU, meet the ASU Cheer Team and experience the energy of game day on campus. Participants will learn more about the ASU Cheer program, connect with current team members and get a feel for campus life.

Cheer Prospect Day Schedule

8 a.m. - Arrival and Check In

8:15 a.m. - Game Day Walk-Through Practice

  • Introduction by ASU head cheer coach
  • Observe a live practice session
  • Get a behind-the-scenes look at game day preparation

9:30 a.m. - Leadership Meet and Greet, Q&A Session

  • Meet the ASU Cheer coaching staff and team leaders
  • Learn about team culture, expectations and support systems
  • Ask questions and hear from current team members

Advance registration is required, and the electronic registration form can be found on the event website.

The Cheer Prospect Day event is being hosted in conjunction with the ASU Admissions Game Day Tour on Oct. 4. Participants in Cheer Prospect Day and their families are also encouraged to sign up for the free Game Day Tour, which includes a guided campus tour, an academic fair, the Ram Jam tailgate, and free admission to the Rams football game against UT Permian Basin.
