SAN ANGELO, TX — Fort Concho will bring a month of haunted history, ghost stories, and family-friendly scares this October with its Frontier Frights event series leading up to Halloween.
The series opens Oct. 10–11 with Fort Concho After Dark, where guests can tour four buildings and hear volunteers share spooky stories from the fort’s past. Tours begin at 8:10 p.m., with the last entry at 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $12 for general admission, $10 for members, and free for children under 6, though some stories may not be suitable for younger audiences.
On Oct. 17–18, the fort will host A Murder at Fort Concho, a mystery game inspired by “Clue.” Participants will investigate a fictional murder by questioning historical figures across the site. The event runs from 7 to 10 p.m., with the last entry at 9:15 p.m. Admission is $12, or $10 for members.
The month concludes with the House of Horrors on Oct. 24–25 in the Quartermaster Building at Burgess and East Avenue C. Designed for ages 6 and up, the haunted house operates from 7:30 to 11 p.m., with the last ticket sold at 10:30 p.m. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets are $12 general, $10 for members, and free for kids under 6.
