SAN ANGELO, TX — Goodfellow Air Force Base announced updated gate hours and access procedures that will take effect Tuesday, Oct. 7, to enhance security and improve traffic flow during peak commuting times.

According to the 17th Training Wing Public Affairs Office, the new schedule adjusts entry and exit points for personnel and visitors as follows:

  • North Gate: Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for inbound and outbound traffic.

  • South Gate: Open for outbound traffic only from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

  • South Crash Gate: Open for inbound traffic only from 5 a.m. to 8 a.m., Monday through Friday.

  • Commercial Vehicle Inspection Area: Open 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.

  • Visitor Control Center: Open 6 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Officials said large vehicles, including commercial trucks, RVs, and vehicles towing trailers, should use the South Crash Gate during inbound hours or the Commercial Vehicle Inspection Area to prevent congestion and ensure safety.
