San Angelo Home Destroyed in Thursday Fire

SAN ANGELO, TX — A vacant home near the intersection of West 12th Street and North Irving Street was heavily damaged Thursday night after a fire broke out inside the structure, according to the San Angelo Fire Marshal’s Office.

Emergency crews were dispatched at 8:40 p.m. and arrived to find the home fully involved. Fire Marshal Billy Clemons said initial reports indicate the fire started inside the residence. No other homes were harmed, and no injuries were reported.

Nineteen firefighters responded and were able to contain the blaze quickly. The house, which was unoccupied, sustained extensive damage throughout the interior and roofline.

The cause remains under investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact the San Angelo Fire Marshal’s Office at 325-657-4358.

This incident happened just down the road from where The Grande Motel caught fire and suffered catastrophic damage on North Chadbourne Street and West 12th Street in September of this year.
