SAN ANGELO, TX — A bench trial has been scheduled in a civil lawsuit filed by Hartman Roofing Inc. against San Angelo homeowner Kristina Soliz over a disputed $13,294 roofing bill.
According to the Tom Green County court docket, the trial is set for 9 a.m. Dec. 18, 2025, in County Court at Law No. 2 before Judge Andrew Graves.
Hartman Roofing filed the lawsuit March 27, alleging the company provided roofing services that included removal and replacement of shingles and roof components under a contract with Soliz. The company claims Soliz accepted the work but failed to pay the invoiced amount, leaving an unpaid balance of $13,294.
The company is seeking the principal balance along with prejudgment and post-judgment interest, attorney’s fees, statutory damages and court costs. The filing also alleges violations of the Texas Property Code related to failure to promptly pay for improvements and violations of the Texas Construction Trust Fund Act.
Soliz filed her Original Answer on June 23, formally denying all allegations. In the filing, she states no contract ever existed between her and Hartman Roofing and that the company never provided any goods or services to her. The answer further states she never accepted any roofing work and does not owe any balance.
Soliz also denies the company’s claims of unjust enrichment, breach of contract, failure to promptly pay and any violation of the Texas Construction Trust Fund Act. The filing states Soliz was divested of all interest in the subject property on May 6, 2024, and had zero ownership interest during all times relevant to the lawsuit.
In her filing, Soliz requests that the court require Hartman Roofing to replead portions of its lawsuit for clarity or dismiss the case if it cannot do so. If the case proceeds to trial, Soliz is asking that Hartman Roofing take nothing and that court costs be assessed against the company.
The case will be decided by a judge rather than a jury.
