SAISD Board Agenda Includes Grievance Appeal, Finances, 2026–27 Calendar

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — The San Angelo Independent School District Board of Trustees will meet Monday, Dec. 15, for its regular board meeting, with a lengthy agenda that includes a Level III grievance appeal, multiple financial and purchasing items, policy updates, and consideration of the district’s 2026–27 school calendar.

The meeting is scheduled for 5:45 p.m. in the board room at the San Angelo ISD Administration Building, 1621 University Ave.

The meeting will begin with a call to order and establishment of a quorum, followed by the invocation delivered by Pierce Love, lead pastor of students and families at The Four 56 Church. Lamar High School students Sorrel Fowler, Shaylee Brown, Slaten Bishop, Hagan Hughes and Adley Hughes are scheduled to lead the pledges to the United States and Texas flags.

Trustees will recognize College Board National Recognition Program honorees and AP Scholars during the recognitions portion of the meeting.

Public comments will follow before the board enters closed session.

During closed session, trustees will conduct a Level III grievance appeal under Board Policy DGBA (Local) and deliberate and consult with legal counsel as permitted under sections 551.074 and 551.071 of the Texas Government Code. The board will later reconvene in open session to consider and take possible action on the grievance appeal.

The board will then conduct a Finance and Audit Committee workshop.

Finance-related items include a routine finance report, bills and accounts, a monthly investment report, a quarterly investment report, a tax collection report, and a purchasing report that includes purchase orders exceeding $20,000.

Under information items, trustees will receive updates on bond construction projects, academic programs, a demographic study, and long-range planning.

Consent items include approval of minutes from the Nov. 10, 2025, pre-agenda workshop and the Nov. 17, 2025, regular board meeting.

Action items include consideration of Bid #25-018 for curriculum and instructional materials; cooperative purchasing organizations; Bid #25-015 for maintenance, transportation and miscellaneous supplies; and approval of library book purchases.

Trustees will also consider bills and accounts, quarterly investments, and December donations.

Additional action items include consideration of an interlocal agreement for interdistrict transportation; authorizing the superintendent to negotiate a design-build contract with E3 Integral Solutions Inc.; approval of multiple local policy updates under TASB Policy Update 126; and consideration of the district’s proposed 2026–27 school calendar.

The meeting will conclude with announcements, including upcoming board meeting dates, and adjournment.

The meeting is open to the public.
