Total Loss Reported in San Angelo House Fire

SAN ANGELO, TX — A house at 337 W. Ave. P was declared a total loss after a fire early Jan. 16, with no injuries reported, the San Angelo Fire Marshal’s Office stated.

Emergency responders were dispatched at 9:45 a.m. to the fully involved structure and backyard fire. High winds drove the fire into small spaces around the home, while heavy fire loads inside and outside required extensive overhaul, meaning firefighters had to break down walls and other parts of the house, officials said.

Thirty-one firefighters and 15 units responded to contain the blaze. The building was demolished due to the risk of collapse.

The cause remains under investigation by the San Angelo Fire Marshal’s Office. Further details will be released as the probe advances.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the office at 325-657-4358.
