Goodfellow AFB Extends Mission-Essential-Only Status Through Monday; North Gate Closed

 
SAN ANGELO, TX — Goodfellow Air Force Base will remain on mission-essential personnel only status through Monday, Jan. 26, due to inclement weather and forecasted hazardous road conditions. 
 
All programs, events, and activities are canceled through that date. The Base Exchange and commissary are closed, while the Western Winds dining facility remains open. 
 
An addendum from base public affairs also announced that the North Gate is closed. Entry to the installation will be permitted only through the Jacobson Gate on South Chadbourne Street. 
 
In an email sent to local media Sunday afternoon, 17th Training Wing Public Affairs stated: “Due to inclement weather and forecasted road conditions, Goodfellow AFB will continue to be 'mission essential personnel only' through Monday, Jan. 26. Programs, events and activities are cancelled. The BX and the Commissary are closed; the Western Winds dining facility remains open.” 
 
The addendum added: “The North Gate will be closed. Entry will be through the Jacobson Gate on S. Chadbourne St.” 
 
The restricted status was initially announced for Saturday, Jan. 24, then extended through Sunday, Jan. 25, before the latest continuation.
