City Water Bill Card Payments Disrupted by Cyber Attack

SAN ANGELO, TX — Online credit and debit card payments for City of San Angelo water utility bills were disrupted Friday due to a cybersecurity attack on the city's contracted third-party credit card processing company.

The outage, which began Feb. 6, does not involve a data breach at the city level, and no customer credit or debit card information was compromised, according to a city announcement. The issue also did not affect InvoiceCloud, the platform used for online bill management.

Residents enrolled in credit or debit card autopay must switch to alternate payment methods until services are restored. There is no timeline for when online card payments will return.

The city said no late fees will be assessed to affected autopay customers during the disruption, and potential water shutoffs have been suspended for those impacted.

Current accepted payment methods include:

  • In person: Credit card, cash or check at City Hall Annex, 301 W. Beauregard Ave.
  • Online: ACH/EFT payments.
  • By mail: City of San Angelo Utility Billing/Collections, P.O. Box 5820, San Angelo, TX 76902.
  • Drop box: South side of City Hall Annex (checks or money orders only; no cash).
  • By phone: 325-657-4323 (select payment option); long-distance callers may use 855-419-2758.
