SAN ANGELO, TX — Rep. August Pfluger has helped secure major wins recently for San Angelo and Tom Green County through Community Funded Projects.
This includes:
- $1,233,324 for San Angelo Police Department public safety communications technology upgrade
- $5,000,000 for San Angelo Regional Airport air traffic control tower reconstruction
- $1,000,000 for Ports-to-Plains Alliance future interstate planning between San Angelo and Sonora
Pfluger also helped garner a $1 million federal grant to build a bridge over the South Concho River at the Mineral Wells low-water crossing, addressing long-standing safety concerns for residents during heavy rains.
“Texas priorities deserve their share of federal support, especially when our area provides the critical food security, energy security, and national security the rest of the country has come to count on,” Pfluger said. “That’s why I fought to successfully secure millions for our community. Critical technology upgrades at the Police Department will ensure law enforcement officers can stay focused on keeping our community safe. Improvements to air traffic control at our airport will allow more people to easily travel in and out of the city. And infrastructure improvements will support the hardworking men and women on the roads.
“I’m especially proud to have secured the funds for Tom Green County’s new low-water crossing bridge to help prevent devastating flooding like we saw last July from happening again.”
Pfluger encouraged anyone with a project they’d like considered for next year’s funding process to submit it by the Feb. 27 deadline.
