Severe Weather Prompts Early Closures, Dismissals in San Angelo

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — Angelo State University, San Angelo city offices, and San Angelo ISD campuses will close or be dismissed early Tuesday amid threats of severe weather, with officials urging residents to exercise caution, stay informed, and avoid unnecessary travel. 

The university will cancel classes and shut down its campus starting at 1:30 p.m. City offices announced they would close at 2 p.m. San Angelo ISD will dismiss students early: elementary schools at 2 p.m., middle schools at 2:30 p.m., and high schools at 3 p.m. An administrator will remain on-site at each campus until all students are picked up, with buses running and all in-district activities canceled. 

Tom Green County offices, courts, and libraries will also be closing at 2 p.m. today. 

Angelo State plans to resume normal operations on Wednesday unless otherwise noted. Essential university staff should contact supervisors for guidance. 

The city also stated that tonight’s river park master plan public meeting and the San Angelo Police Department southwest advisory meeting have been canceled.
