Angelo State Ranks Among Top 30% Worldwide for International Students

SAN ANGELO, TX - Angelo State University has been ranked among the top 30% of institutions worldwide in the 2026 "World University Rankings for International Students" - and among the top 28% in the 2026 "World Best Value University Rankings for International Students" by Study Abroad Aide (SAA).

SAA is an international organization that provides a global database of the international study options at over 8,450 universities in 70 countries. In preparing its 2026 World University Rankings, SAA analyzed over 8,000 universities worldwide based on academic reputation and international student enrollment.

For its World Best Value University Rankings, SAA then analyzed those same 8,000-plus universities using two weighted metrics: Academic Quality (75%) and Cost of Education (25%).

Only accredited universities offering bachelor's and master's degrees are eligible for the SAA rankings. Data for the rankings is gathered from school websites, government education websites, and third-party sources that include TIME magazine's Higher Education World University Rankings, QS World University Rankings, and U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges.

"Study Abroad Aid extends its warmest congratulation to Angelo State University," said Hyun Lee, SAA founder. "These outstanding rankings highlight the university's commitment to academic excellence and its rising appeal to international students. This achievement is greatly beneficial to students looking for a high-quality institution abroad that caters to diverse communities and has proven global influence."

For the 2025-26 academic year, Angelo State enrolled a record 334 international students from 43 countries on six continents. The top three other countries represented on the ASU campus for 2025-26 are Cambodia with 100 students, Vietnam with 87 and South Korea with 47.

Recruiting, enrolling and preparing international students to attend Angelo State is coordinated by the ASU Center for International Studies (CIS).

"We offer international students a quality education at an affordable price, while they offer us the opportunity to learn more about other cultures and be a part of their educational journey," said David Morales, CIS director. "The ASU community has made our international students truly feel part of the Ram Family, and that spirit shows when they return home. Each international graduate becomes an ASU ambassador to the greater world community, taking with them the spirit and values of ASU, and the world is noticing. They come to ASU from across the globe, but they go as a Ram, leading the charge to share ASU with the world."
