SAN ANGELO, TX — The San Angelo ISD Board of Trustees will consider the superintendent’s recommendations for 2026-27 administrators’ contracts, multiple 2025 bond construction projects and a budget amendment when it meets at 5:45 p.m. Thursday in the board room of the district administration building, 1621 University Ave.
The board will also act on approval of a new principal at Goliad Elementary School, districtwide roofing bids, a Bonham Playground renovation, athletic fields improvements, Fannin Elementary work, an E-Rate grant application for 2026-27 and certification of instructional materials.
The meeting will open with a call to order and establishment of quorum, an invocation by Reverend John S. Pope Jr. of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church and the Pledge of Allegiance led by Santa Rita Elementary students Rebel Counts, Cannon Counts, Avaline Lozano-Gossett, Harvey Skinner, Charles Skinner and Karlos Slaughter.
Under recognitions, the board will honor a Central athlete, Central High students selected as Texas All-State musicians, the Central High cheerleaders who won the 2026 NCA High School National Championship and the district communications team.
Public comments will follow. The board will then conduct a Finance and Audit Committee Workshop that includes a routine finance report, February bills and accounts, the monthly investment report as of Feb. 28, 2026, the quarterly investment report as of Feb. 28, 2026, a budget amendment, the January 2026 tax collection report and purchase orders over $20,000. Information items include a bond construction update, an update on academic programs and the Quarter 2 ABC Evidence Review Report.
Consent items cover March donations, approval of minutes from the Feb. 5 Team of 8 training, the Feb. 9 pre-agenda workshop, the Feb. 16 regular board meeting, a library book purchase, Bid #25-015 for maintenance, transportation and miscellaneous supplies, Bid #25-023 for trades and the superintendent’s recommendations for 2026-27 administrators’ contracts.
Action items include consideration of bills and accounts, the quarterly investment report, the budget amendment, approval of the Goliad Elementary principal, RFP #26-006 for districtwide roofing, RFQ #2026.03.05 for Bonham Playground, RFQ #26-007 for athletic fields projects under the 2025 bond, RFQ #26-001 for CMaR bond work at Fannin Elementary, the 2026-27 E-Rate grant application, an update on SB 13 compliance and book challenges, and certification of provision of instructional materials for 2026-27.
Announcements will include a finance/pre-agenda workshop set for 5:45 p.m. April 13 and the next regular board meeting at 5:45 p.m. April 20. The meeting is expected to adjourn after announcements.
