GoFundMe Created for Northside Rec Center Shooting Victim

SAN ANGELO, TX — A GoFundMe has been started for the teenager who was shot and killed outside the Northside Recreation Center on Thursday.

The GoFundMe was launched to help Isaiah Bailon’s family with funeral expenses.

The GoFundMe states:

"On Thursday, April 30, our family’s lives changed forever. We unexpectedly lost my 19-year-old nephew, Isaiah David Bailon. There are no words for the pain our family is feeling right now. Isaiah was so young, full of life, and deeply loved by everyone who knew him. Losing him so suddenly has left our hearts shattered. His mother, sister, family, and friends are trying to face the reality we never imagined we would have to live enough.

"As we prepare to lay Isaiah to rest, we are asking first for prayers for our family during this heartbreaking time. If you are able to help financially, any donations will go towards funeral expenses and helping ease the burden on our family as we grieve this unimaginable loss.

"No parent should ever have to bury their child. No sister should have to grow up without her brother. We are trying to stay strong for one another while carrying the pain that feels impossible to put into words.

"Every prayer, donation, and share means more to us than we can express. Thank you for loving Isaiah and for standing beside our family during one of the hardest moments of our lives."

On April 30, 2026, the San Angelo Police Department was dispatched to the Northside Recreation Center, 2800 North Magdalen Street, regarding a shots fired call. When officers arrived, they found Bailon deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.

A 17-year-old, Matthew Rodriguez, was arrested and charged with murder.
