Cummings Named President, CEO of United Way of Abilene

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — A San Angelo native who was instrumental in the response to the July 4th floods last year is taking over the United Way of Abilene, United Way of the Concho Valley announced. 

Kamryn Cummings, who was in a critical leadership role during San Angelo’s response to the devastating flood last year has been name the President and CEO of the United Way of Abilene. 

In a release, the United Way of the Concho Valley stated:

The United Way of the Concho Valley is proud to announce that Kamryn Cummings has been named the next President and Chief Executive Officer of United Way of Abilene. Cummings will conclude her service with the United Way of the Concho Valley at the end of July as she transitions into her new leadership role.

Over the last five years, Kamryn has demonstrated a deep commitment to serving the community through collaboration, innovation, and a passion for improving lives across the region. Her leadership and dedication have made a lasting impact on both the organization and the people it serves.

During her tenure, she has grown United Way’s community impact, helped shape the United We Read programs, and implemented Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in the Concho Valley. She played a critical leadership role in the community’s immediate response following the July 4th flood and continues to be instrumental in ongoing recovery efforts.

“Kamryn has been an incredible asset to United Way of the Concho Valley and to our entire community,” said Ashley Ammons, President/CEO of United Way of the Concho Valley. “Her passion for helping others, building meaningful partnerships, and advancing the mission of United Way has been evident in everything she does. While we will certainly miss her leadership and energy, we are excited to see her continue making a difference in Abilene.”

Kamryn is a graduate of Angelo State University and Texas Tech University. She is also a graduate of Leadership San Angelo and the Goodfellow Honorary Commander Program. In recognition of her leadership and service, she was named one of the San Angelo Chamber of Commerce’s 20 Under 40 honorees and received the Citizen Service Award from the San Angelo Police Department. Kamryn also serves as the Chairman of the Concho Valley Together COAD Department (Community Organizations Active in Disaster).

United Way of the Concho Valley celebrates Cummings; new opportunity and wisher her continued success as she begins this next chapter of service to the Abilene community.
