TxDOT Updates US 87 Speed Limit Signs For Better Visibility

SAN ANGELO, TX - The Texas Department of Transportation has updated its speed limit signs on US 87 near Wall to increase visibility.

In a Facebook post on May 20, TxDOT stated that 70 mph speed limit signs on US 87 near Wall have been "updated with a red border to enhance visibility."

"As always, please drive a safe speed, stay alert, and help protect yourself and others on the road," TxDOT stated.

This past April, the Texas Department of Transportation lowered the speed limit on U.S. 87 through Wall to 70 mph, which led to yesterday's update.

We reported in April that Tom Green County Commissioner Chad Decker stated, “New signs are posted pretty much across from the east & west ends of Loop 570 where it ties into 87. Please feel free to share, as tickets are already being written.”
